Mount Abang Trekking
Gunung Abang is the highest point on the rim of the Batur caldera and, at 2,151 meters, is the third-highest in all of Bali. It lies to the east of Lake Batur. Abang was part of a prehistoric massive volcano. However, as this 4,000-meter volcano cooled the remaining rim, with the active Batur volcano peak inside, remained. This area is known as Kintamani.
Abang is still natural and untouched by human development, making it a peaceful trek through forests and past only a few Balinese temples. Bird sounds and clean fresh air can be enjoyed all the way up, making you feel close to Mother Earth and her calming energy.
The view from the top is breathtaking, with cloud formations surrounding the lake and volcano on one side, and Mount Agung, "the naval of the world," along with a picturesque coastline on the other.
